Nathalie
Liege
Nathalie has produced a number of
ideas and designs for the glass windows, doors and partitions within
the refurbished St. Luke's Church.
The image of St. Luke is surrounded
by remarkably poetic phrases drawn from the workshops.
St. Luke is to be depicted painting
the Virgin Mary, with iconic symbols relating to medicine. This
is proposed for a set of doors, and images drawn from the photos
of the workshop participants are proposed for use in a tall arched
window.
Small engravings inspired by the light
filtering in to an olive grove are proposed as safety friezes for
clear glass partitions and screens throughout the Church. The friezes
are based on stone walls for the ground floor; branches on the mezzanine;
leaves on the first floor, and the tops of the olive trees with
glimpses of sky for the top floor.
