The
Art House will be running the final four bursaries out of the programme
of 12 during 2005.
The selection of the artists for
the last three bursaries of the programme of 12 has now been completed.
Alexis
Stevens, at ArtSway has now completed her residency, and currently
has her work installed in the main gallery, until 19 June.
Suraya
Raja is now working with English Nature, the government agency
responsible for the conservation of wildlife, and is exploring issues
around the processes involved in the management and restoration
of the Humberhead Peatlands National
Nature Reserve, near Doncaster.
Sam Clayton
and Mark Jacobs will be working in collaboration at the Yorkshire
Sculpture Park, near Wakefield, during August. They will be
exploring how the patterns of use of the Park have changed over
its history.
The final venue has now been confirmed
as Cartwright Hall, the magnificent
art gallery in Lister Park in Bradford. It houses extensive collections
of 19th. and 20th. century British art, international prints and
contemporary South Asian art and crafts. Amelia
Crouch will be working as artist in residence during July and
August, and will be exploring relationships between text and image,
and between context and interpretation.
