Was it worth it?
a reflection on residencies

On Friday 25 November 2005 the Art House held a one day seminar to explore the benefits and issues that arose for both artists and host organisations from the 3 year programme of 13 residencies for emerging visual artists. All 15 artists attended the seminar, as did most of the host organisations. Short presentations from a selection of the artists and hosts covered a range of topics -
working in isolation
the importance of networking
time management
working with an artist in a non-arts organisation
coping with other agendas, such as curating
establishing good working relationships

There was much lively discussion, plenty of networking, and lots of artwork to be viewed. For further details of the day, please contact Rachael on info@the-arthouse.org.uk
